Netball

LOSA has commenced as a club in the Eastern Districts Netball Association (EDNA) competition for the winter season, with over 50 players representing the Association wearing the great saxe blue and gold on Monday nights.

This fantastic achievement brings students in contact with one another again and promotes the Association as an active member in our wider sporting community.

A few words from the LOSA Netball President, Catherine Lupone:

“Netball acts as an ideal way for Loreto girls to maintain their connection to the school and community after graduating. The LOSA Netball Club allows individuals or groups to play together in a fun, social or competitive netball competition, helping to maintain or create strong bonds with their peers and a connection with the ever growing LOSA community. Often times, teams are made up of girls from a range of different graduating years and all are able to develop a strong sense of friendship and connection amongst their team and the club. In a sense, LOSA Netball is the link between scholars and the Loreto school values, strong friendships and memories made, and gives all of our members the change to continue to be part of what made Loreto such a special part of their childhoods. Whether you’re are brand new graduate or a scholar of many years, LOSA Netball can act as a point of reconnection to what it means to be a Loreto girl, and now Loreto scholar.

In the four years since LOSA Netball started, our club has grown significantly and continues to do so each year. In 2021, we have seven teams and around seventy girls participating in the Winter Netball season, made up of scholars from a vast range of graduating years. We’re lucky to also have a team made up of new Loreto graduates, as well as being joined by graduates from the early 2000s who want to reconnect with the LOSA community. With this expansion, we’ve been able to create a strong sense of community by including a range of social events include a much anticipated 2021 End of Season Gala, the development of LOSA Netball merchandise and also beginning to opening up to sponsorships and partnerships from companies around Adelaide, including Physio Smart and Revolution Health Clubs.

We are open to anyone, of any age and netball skill level – competitive or socially. Whether you’re joining with a few friends, a whole team or just want to join by yourself, there’s a place for you in the LOSA Netball Club.”
